with us, the lags seems to be according the server we were on. Tonight in particular, those of us in the midwest would lag at the same time, whilst those on the east coast would lag at other times. It's been very, very bad for about 2 weeks now, just freezing up for about 10-15 seconds at a time.

LOl who isn't laggin? was bad eariler I just gave up playing the game for the day and all I was trying to do was get to spot on maps I needed for carto title and coundl't even do that. Since game is free I won't complain, now if I paid to play this game They would seriously need an upgrade or something

Wow, glad I didn't d/c when my gal and I got lagstorm. Had to reset my internet and "Would you like to reconnect?" 2-3 times right in front of Duncan in HM.

Good to know it wasn't my net though.

One day people will understand the Internet. This day will be when they have Internet 2 where quality of service will ensure communication is not "best effort" (like now) but "guaranteed effort".

It's like Guild Wars Guru's website/forum, when I connect at around noon, americans wake up on the east coast and connect en masse, leaving me with huge pings, and lots of "unable to connect to the server" error messages. And I'm not complaining, because I know that later everything will be back to normal.

It's the same with GW.

Might be unrelated, but couple days ago my ping was ok, but ingame lag was horrible. What had happened was that I found a hardware update for Intel IDT audio when I was updating Windows on Microsoft's website and let it install.

Installing the new IDT caused my SigmaTel Audio Drivers to be blown away along with Intel Audio Studio. Reloading the SigmaTel Audio and Intel Audio Studio returned GW to normal. If you don't have an Intel chip set, this is unrelated.

Heck, as I said a million times, I can even somewhat deal with the shitty skill balance around. (Shitty to say the least)

BUT when I can't even play the game, they've crossed a line.

Don't even start with the: "You're not paying fee's so they don't have to have top notch servers", please...

I payed for a game, I want to play it

Some people pay for Guru too, knowing that they can't get priority on the servers.

This is exageration on your part: you can play the game, not at the time where ping spikes occur. The game is not often in this state, is it?

And so do I, and you and I CAN play the game, not just at every time. We haven't had more than 3 server downtime in 4 years, spikes do not occur every hours of every day, do they? (for everyone I mean, it'll happen for each of us depending on our own ISP network's load and there's nothing in the world Anet can do about that!)

i think it would be fair to say theres been alot more lag in say the last 2 weeks than what is normal for guildwars, which for me has been pretty decent when ive been playing for years...

being on vent with guildies, mostly american/canadian and im from england, we know that the lag can be on all of us at the same time, or to a couple or 1 person... vent and other stuff continue to run fine 95% of the time this happens...

points to a problem at either anets servers/network etc, or along a major pipeline they use, or a reduction in the number of servers/bandwidth

Lost a survivor to a lag spike while brawling... Fortunately he was only tier 1. And I only live 30 miles away from Anet's office!
